Random thoughts =)

Brushing my teeth... closing the day out. I am confronted by a leaky dripping faucet, and I wonder... these days we have what are called "washer-less" faucets. Now to me this implies that one need never have to replace a washer... but when the thing drip, drip, drip, drips... what do you do? Replace the whole damned faucet? Well, okay... it's pretty ugly, I can work with this... but seriously... what if I REALLY liked it??? Then what? Are we really moving forward? Is technology really all it's cracked up to be? I listened to a gal give a presentation on the value of pre-conception genetic alteration... as a means to prevent disease... now we know the worries of the slippery slope on that subject, but what of the other side... look at the beautiful minds that cannot help but have been molded by the reality of difficulty. Prime example, Stephen Hawking... would he have made the same contribution had he not been afflicted by a genetic disease? Is a problem and fix free future really in anyone's best interests? Would we not be better off replacing those washers??? G'nite world... keep on thinking :)
